Part of the Housemaid Portraits collection, this painting is a celebration of the often unseen; reframing the housemaid as a figure of intelligence, grace, and quiet resilience. Too often, their identities are eclipsed by their roles, defined only by the tasks they perform rather than the depth of who they are.

Here, the housemaid is beautiful, happy, and proud of herself and her work. Like many of us, she begins her day with a coffee, a small ritual of strength and courage. She smiles perhaps at a colleague’s joke, or perhaps simply because she feels content in the moment.

This collection offers a new lens; one that reveals the modern housemaid not only as a worker, but as a human being with her own stories, emotions, and inner world. By portraying these women in moments of thought, play, and reflection, Housemaid Portraits reminds us that the human spirit cannot be confined to a uniform or a duty. It stands as a testament that all lives, and all labours, deserve recognition, dignity, and respect.
