Every businessperson knows the creeping doubt that accompanies decision-making—the quiet fear of being wrong. Wrong about their strategy, wrong in choosing the right people, wrong in their ability to persuade and win over new customers. It’s a fleeting moment, a brief pause, before it’s overtaken by the rush of leadership, by the drive to inspire employees, win clients, and conquer new markets.

But to never doubt? That becomes a dangerous flaw in an ever-shifting world, where complexity grows and change is relentless. Doubt, in its essence, is not a weakness but a spark of self-awareness, a critical edge that forces introspection and adaptability. It may well be the singular trait that remains uniquely human—something even augmented beings and AI cannot replicate. For it is doubt that breeds creativity, refines our vision, and pushes us toward deeper understanding in ways no algorithm or enhanced cognition could ever truly mimic.
